HERE COMES THE BLOODMOBILE!
Wednesday, May 30th from 10:00am to 3:00pm
Dear St. James Cathedral and Staff:
As many of you know, the Chancery Office and all affiliated staff come together biannually to participate in the lifesaving effort of donating blood. They have recently been in contact with our local representative from Florida’s Blood Centers, and with his help we have solidified the date for the next blood drive here at the Chancery.
It is my desire that we look with equal hope and anticipation toward our next drive, which will be on Wednesday, May 30th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. I am confident that with the same willing and selfless spirit we will witness yet another successful blood drive, and thus participate in this great mission of saving lives.
Karli’s Story
Watch Video
Like many teenage girls, Karli can often be found with her cell phone glued to her hand. It hard to image that the teen has ben in the fight of her life. In October 2010, Karli felt a lump in her leg and thought she had pulled a muscle. When the lump didn’t fade away her parents took her to the doctor, where she was diagnosed with a form of cancer called osteosarcoma.
Karli spent the next few months in and out of the hospital undergoing chemotherapy and receiving multiple blood and platelet transfusions.
Thanks in part to blood donors Karli is now in remission. She is feeling better and looking forward to attending high school in the fall.
Your ability to help save the life of someone like Karli is as close the Big Red Bus. Make sure you donate blood at your company’s next blood drive and help save local lives!
