CELEBRATING 125 YEARS

       On July 25, 2010 we celebrate the Feast of St. James.  We will also begin a year of celebrating  125 years of our Parish existence.  No small milestone!  We are anticipating an entire year of gatherings and opportunities to honor the past, commemorate the present and pray for our future as a Catholic community.

A committee has been formed and we are in the process of sharing ideals and involving the entire Parish. 

Some of the highlights will include our opening Gala Event for the FOMM concert year which will be a wonderful dinner and music event in September.  In late November we will be dedicating our newly renovated Cathedral with the entire Diocese of Orlando.  An Advent concert is scheduled with a luncheon as well as our Candlelight Concert which will be another annual Christmas season highlight. 

Beginning in March we will continue our celebration as we enter the Lenten Season with a series of concerts from many local artists.  We are also very proud to host the American Federation Pueri Cantores Children’s Festival-a Catholic children's choir organization.  This will bring children’s choirs from all over the southeastern United States to our beautiful new Cathedral!

In February we celebrate Confirmations and in May our young children will be receiving First Communion, we will also have our formal Organ dedication and concert.  We hope to have many activities that will bring the parish together in prayer and  contemplation; chances to further build our community into a strong and vital Catholic presence in the downtown area.
