The St. James Boys and Girls Choir is an opportunity for boys and girls in grades three through eight to share the vocal talents with the community. The choir was formed to educate children musically; foster good singing and be a vital part of the Church liturgy. The hope is that participating in the choir will encourage the children to sing in the church the rest of their life.
Children’s Choir will now be on THURSDAYS at
A new choir is also being formed this year that will be called Jubilate Youth Choir and will be for students from grades 5-8,
A Hand Bell choir for Teens will be established also this year: Open to students ages 12 and up, this choir will ring for special occasions at the Cathedral; such as Christmas Candle Light Concert, and special masses at the cathedral.
Previous experience is not necessary, but a basic ability to follow a musical score is helpful.
Children’s Choir Semester I Schedule
REHEARSALS: THURSDAYS (new day) beginning
Sept. 9, 2010 from 3:00- 4:15 PM at St. James Catholic School (505 E. Ridgewood) in the
MASSES: (*Prior to the Cathedral’s re-opening on Nov. 20, 2010 the Children will sing in the temporary Worship Space (Social Hall), then after that date all masses will be in the newly restored Cathedral!

REHEARSALS: WEDNESDAYS beginning Aug. 25, 2010 from 5:15 p.m.-6:15 p.m. at the Cathedral Choir Room (Lower level of the Cathedral) Membership in this choir requires at least 2 years choral experience, or demonstration of musical abilities by audition.
