 The Youth Ministry is an advocate for the role of young people in the Catholic Church.

 The Youth Ministry tries to provide leadership, resources and services that educate young people and help them in becoming leaders and ministers for the Church.

 Its goal is to ensure that the voice of young people is heard and that the gifts of young people are valued. Our group promotes and encourages ministry to youth within all cultures, settings, and environments within the Catholic Church.

  We seek to collaborate with the organizational structures of the Catholic Church and with other ministry and youth-serving organizations that affect the field of youth ministry.

   At St. James, we provide a safe, fun and spiritual environment for the students.

   We are teaching the Youth how important they are to our parish and how even middle school students can give back to our parish in many different ministries.

   We have worked with other Youth Groups to have scavenger hunts and had the Coalition for the Homeless come and speak to the students.  We are going on the National Catholic Youth Conference to focus on leadership skills, vocations, non-violence, per mediation, communication skills and most importantly, service and justice.
